What you will do and why:
We are currently looking for a Director of Business Development to join our team in Japan. The ideal candidate will be in Tokyo, Japan and will be reporting to VP of Business Development for the APAC region who is based in Beijing. This role will require some traveling to build relationships with our clients within Japan and to get them to increase their Viedoc usage. In this position, we are looking for a go-getter who will actively drive and manage our sales pipeline to meet and exceed goals while working closely together with management and Viedoc team in Japan to develop and implement sales strategies. This means you will:
- Working closely with Viedoc professional services team to maintain relationships with existing clients for upselling and new sales
- Use strategic prospecting techniques to identify new accounts/opportunities in Japan
- Develop new business through prospect meetings, demos, and follow up calls, etc.
- Present prospects/customers finalized collaborative proposals and contracts with solutions, justifications, and expected results to overcome objections to secure new business with increased revenue
- Apply enterprise selling mindset where possible
- Strengthen the current relationships with executive management at CRO customers
- Network with people at all levels within targeted customer/prospect organizations to navigate competitive environments and build consensus
- Deeply involved in marketing events and representing Viedoc at trade shows, industry events, etc.
- Timely update and manage the company CRM system
- Regular meetings with clients and prospects (Estimate to have around 300 meetings per year.)
As a professional, we would like you to have/be:
- A minimum of 5 years business development experience within the Clinical
- Research industry with a consistent track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
- A bachelor's degree or higher from a college or university
- eClinical system sales experience especially in post-marketing surveillance
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Well-connected within CRO’s and important Pharma companies Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research industries
As a person, we would like you to have/be:
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to successfully work independently
- Outstanding networking skills: demonstrated ability to build relationships and to communicate at senior management level
